This shit lasts, so make it good
and make it mean something.
Jennifer Everett
Some things are not just things but doors to spaces beyond and behind. The oldest ceramic vessels are more than 15,000 years old and document the life of our ancestors. It’s not shit, but mud. It’s the narrative origin of human life. It is alchemy, and history, and culture, and geology, and chemistry, and a cup for tea. Vessels can contain stories, as well as they can be their start. Porcelain is a lot.
And for me, it introduced an artistic journey from vessels to installation to research, gradually developing into a practice in which porcelain’s potentials, charges, and applications merge. At the core: The material itself, resonating literally and narratively with certain phenomena around the human condition.
